University of Bath

The University of Bath was ranked 11th in the UK by the recent 2010 University guide published in the Sunday Times. Furthermore the city university was rated an excellent second based on the number of students in graduate level jobs. One of the factors driving this is that nearly 6 in 10 of the undergraduate students spend one of their years on business or industrial placement. The university is renowned globally for its research work and close links with industry.

The league table uses factors such as entrance qualifications, degree results staff to student ratios and the dropout rate form the university which for Bath is a low 5.5%

The university is well known for its sports facilities and competitive nature, including events such as the local ‘rugby derby’ – University of Bath vs. University of Bristol. Academic programmes include BSc (Hons) in Sport (Sports Performance, BA Coach Education and Sports Development and BSc Sport & Exercise. The University is to host the British Paralympics preparation camps in the run-up to the London 2012 Paralympic Games. As with all universities one of the highlights is freshers week  incorporating introduction meetings, walks , films, campus tours and city tours.
