Royal Victoria Park Bath

Royal Victoria Park first opened in 1830. It is the largest park in Bath, located just south of The Royal Crescent. The park hosts  the annual Bath Spring Flower Show.  On some evenings you can see hot air balloons taking off in the park, offering amazing panoramic views of the The Royal Crescent, Bath and beyond.

The Royal Victoria Park in bath was officially opened by Princess Victoria, when she was just eleven years old, she was so impressed that she designated it the Royal Victoria Park,  and it is now registered by English Heritage as a Park of National Historic Importance.

Laid out as an arboretum, with a Botanical Garden, walks and drives. Its facilities include a major adventure playground and skateboard park, golf & putting greens, bowling greens, tennis, lake, model boating pond, bird aviary, allotments, bandstand and Pavilion Cafe. Royal Victoria Park  was opened in 1830 by the 11 year old Princess Victoria it was the first park to carry her name, and includes an obelisk dedicated to her. It was privately run as part of the Victorian public park movement until 1921 when it was taken over by the Bath Corporation.

The park is overlooked by the Royal Crescent and consists of 57 acres with attractions that include a skateboard ramp, tennis, bowling a putting green and 12 and 18 hole golf course, a boating pond, open air concerts, a children's play area and a 9-acre  botanical garden.

It has received a "Green Flag award", the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales and is registered by English Heritage on the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.
